The CEO Who Hates Me

Father-In-Law

Father-In-Law

Back inside the courtroom, the two were very affectionate to each other. Ryu's arm was placed on Arya's shoulder while the latter's arm was wrapped around Ryu's waist.

Mr. Tan was distracted during the whole trial because of his daughter and the man beside her.

His daughter had just graduated that year. How come there's already a clinging man at the scene.

On the other hand, though Arya wanted to hide her face from her father, who looked very confused at that moment, she just couldn't help but be more sympathetic toward Ryu considering her limited time left with him.

Her father was a strict man when it came to his daughter having a relationship. He didn't want her to have a boyfriend until graduation that's why she hid her relationship with Jim before.

However, her mom knew about Jim and it was okay with her as long as it was not affecting her studies in a negative way.

At least now, it was fine if her father met Ryu since she had already graduated, but then again they were meant to meet just this once.

After hours of waiting, finally, a 'not guilty' verdict was announced.

Arya cried out loud as she hugged Ryu tightly then ran towards her dad who was also crying. Tears of joy were overflowing in the eyes of both father and daughter.

"You are free now, Dad." She said still tearing up. Free from everything, including his stained name and reputation.

"Yes, dear," her dad said and then he suddenly looked towards the man beside her.

Arya noticed it and said, "Dad, this is Ryu, my boyfriend."

Ryu offered his hand and said, "Nice to meet you, father-in-law. Congratulations! I am Ryu Ken. Arya and I are about to regi…"

Arya suddenly covered Ryu's mouth and said, "I'm sorry, Dad. I know you are quite shocked right now but I will explain everything to you later."

Arya's father arched an eyebrow and was about to say something but was interrupted by his attorney.

"We have to go to process the documents." Attorney Lim said to her dad as they bid farewell.

"I will meet you at home, dear. Wait for me there and also bring that man over." Her dad said in a serious tone before leaving.

Arya just nodded while Ryu held her hand tightly.

"Let's go. We need to register our marriage." Ryu said in an irritating tone. He didn't like that Arya held him back from announcing their intention to register their marriage to her dad.

"Can we stop over at my place first?" Arya asked suddenly.

Ryu creased his forehead while he looked at Arya with his questioning eyes.

Arya sighed and said, "I have an important thing to get from there to give to my dad."

Arya saw suspicion and hesitation in Ryu's eyes so she laughed.

"Hey, what's wrong?" she asked smiling.

"Why do I feel like you are just stalling time for the registration of our marriage. Why did you stop me from even mentioning it to your dad," he asked in a serious tone still looking intently at Arya.

"What are you saying? Didn't you notice how pale my dad's face was just after suddenly seeing me with a man? Give him a break at least. Let me tell it to him first." She explained then sighed deeply.

"About the stalling, I've already signed the marriage certificate that is in your hands. You can have it registered anytime you like, right? So what's the rush? We can do that after making a stop at my apartment. It won't take long, I promise." Arya answered smiling then hugged Ryu lovingly.

Ryu sighed deeply. Arya had a point. The certificate was already in Chen's hand and he could have it registered immediately. It's just that he wanted them to personally appear and do the processing stuff to make sure that everything was for real. He wanted Arya to be personally present.

"So, any updates?" Rita's Boss asked while drinking jasmine tea.

"The message and instructions were passed to her inside the restroom. We will pull her out within the day." Rita answered staring at her Boss who was, as always, drinking his beloved Jasmine Tea.

"How about Mr. Tan?" he asked next.

"Ryu's group was tailing his movements as expected, but those minions can't pass through us," Rita answered confidently as she shook her head.

Obviously, Ryu was not experienced enough with things like this. His security team was good but not as good as theirs.

Ryu was a clean man, so it's a given, besides, he never encountered such things before.

Rita's Boss smirked.

"Ryu Ken, who would have thought that you would fall for a woman that you barely knew? How long was it Rita?" the Boss asked her still grinning.

"About three weeks, maybe less, Sir." She answered.

"I am so curious to meet that woman personally," the Boss continued with a wicked smile.
